List your twenty-two before designing anything
The Fool through The World — but yours. Who is your Tower moment? What is your Star? The list is 80% of the deck.
One art style for the whole deck
All photos, all illustrations, or all abstract — consistency is what makes 22 cards feel like one deck. The Tarot template's tall art window suits portraits and symbols equally.
Write upright meanings in your own voice
The meaning text is the card. 'A path revealed by patience, not haste' — two lines, concrete, yours.
Number the arcana line
'Major Arcana · IX' — the numbering line is what makes it read as tarot rather than as art cards.
Print on 350 gsm and round the corners
Tarot decks get handled more than any other card object. Heavier stock and a corner punch make the difference between a print and a deck.
