Make trading cards for a wedding or event

A wedding favor gets left on the table. A trading card of the couple goes in someone's wallet.

Most wedding and party favors solve a logistics problem (something to hand out) without solving the actual one (something worth keeping). A trading card flips that: it's personal by construction — the couple's own flavor text, a stat line only the guests will get — and small enough that people genuinely pocket it instead of leaving it on the table.

The Ornate frame carries the ceremony without extra work, and because it's a share link as well as a printable card, it doubles as a save-the-date that unfurls into an actual designed object in a text thread, not just another photo.

How to do it

01

Design the legendary: the couple

Full foil, the Ornate frame, a flavor line that's really a private joke or the story of how they met — this is the centerpiece everything else supports.

02

Make a common per table or per guest

Names, in-jokes, table numbers as a 'set number' — lower rarity than the couple's card so the legendary stays the obvious chase.

03

Send the save-the-date as a share link first

The physical invite arrives later; the link arrives instantly and previews as a real designed card in a text or group chat.

04

Print the guest cards as the actual favor

Standard 63×88 mm card size, sleeved — costs less than almost any other favor and nobody leaves it on the table.

05

Add one secret card for after

A card of the toast, the first dance, or the best-man story — printed only after the fact, for the couple, as the keepsake nobody else got.

Small things that make it great

  • Ornate and Tarot both read as ceremonial rather than novelty
  • Print in bulk on cardstock and sleeve — it costs less than most favors ever do
  • A save-the-date share link renders as a real preview in texts and group chats
